Title: Senior Consultant – Diversity, Equity, Inclusion
Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer & Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer
Position Objective:
The Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Consultant will play a pivotal role in advancing and implementing initiatives aimed at fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment within our healthcare system. This role involves collaborating with leadership, employees, and external partners to drive cultural transformation, improve healthcare equity and patient care outcomes, enhance workforce diversity, and ensure that our organization is reflective of the communities we serve.
Essential Job Duties:

- Training and Education: Design, deliver, and oversee DEI training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring cultural competence and sensitivity in patient care.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and report on diversity metrics to identify areas for improvement and track progress toward DEI goals.
- Policy Development: Review and revise policies and procedures to eliminate bias and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization.
- Business Resource Groups (BRGs): Support the creation and growth of BRGs, providing guidance and resources to empower these groups to drive positive change.
- Community Engagement: Establish partnerships and initiatives to engage with the local community, minority organizations, and underrepresented groups.
- Conflict Resolution: Act as a resource for employees, patients, and families to address and resolve DEI-related issues and concerns.
- Research and Best Practices: Stay current with DEI research and best practices in the healthcare industry, adapting strategies accordingly.
- Communication: Develop and implement communication strategies to promote DEI initiatives internally and externally.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Conflict Resolution and Consultation: Serve as a resource for employees and leadership regarding diversity-related concerns or conflicts, and supporting employee inquiries, counseling and resolutions.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree Business, Sociology, Psychology, Health Administration, HR, Education, Ethnic Studies, LGBTQ Studies, or related field required
- Masters degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion roles, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of diversity and inclusion best practices, cultural competence, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Strong project management skills and experience leading organizational change initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Required License/Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in diversity, equity, and inclusion are a plus.
Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:
There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will not be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
Physical Demands -
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
