TLS Security Management is seeking a security guard for a Commercial Building in Washington DC Our team is seeking Security Guards to ensure the safety and security of the property. As a Front Desk Security Guard, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all staff members.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control access to the community by verifying the identity of individuals entering the premises.
- Conduct routine patrols and inspections to identify and address any potential security risks or hazards.
- Enforce community rules and regulations to maintain order and safety within the premises.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents, accidents, or other security-related activities.
- Collaborate with the property management team and local authorities as necessary.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide assistance as needed.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a security guard, preferably in a residential community setting.
- Must have at least 3 years of customer service experience, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, procedures, and emergency response techniques.
- Must be physically fit and capable of standing or walking for extended periods.
- Possession of a valid and non-expired Maryland Guard card is mandatory.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and observation skills.

Training
All Officers are required to complete training at the commencement of employment and periodically through out the year to maintain proficiency in their role as an officer and sharpen their skills.

Minimum Qualifications
Eligible to receive a Special Police Officer license or Security Officer License
Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Candidate must be 21 years or older

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires working outdoors and indoors and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for long periods of time. Team member may be exposed to the elements and inclement weather while on shift. The company issues weather appropriate uniform gear for some protection from the elements.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours at a time), must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs quickly and lift 15 – 30lbs without issue.
This position consists of shift work. Typical shifts are 4 – 8 hours per day, a mixture of day and evening shifts required by the client site.
