This position is responsible for generating CNC programs, defining and fabricating work holding and fixturing, setting up, and running vertical CNC milling machines to produce precision components while maintaining quality standards. Experience with Haas machines required.
Duties include:
- Interpret engineering drawings, Bill of Material and other specifications to determine product requirements, in order to assist quoting department
- Develop and write CNC programs
- Define cutting tools, attachments and related machine accessories
- Define, calculate and set machine parameters to regulate factors such as cutting speed, feed, depth and angle of cut, tool path or additional machine commands
- Define and fabricate work holding and fixturing
- Setup and load all tooling required
- Operate CNC Milling machines to standard work practices within all quality and performance standards, and perform secondary operations such as deburring
- Inspect and measure finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC programs and machine malfunctions
- Create manufacturing production aid documents such as machine setup and tooling sheets, work instructions and procedures
- Maintain all paperwork accurately
- Maintain library of programs and configuration
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Ensure all safe work practices are followed
Qualifications include:
- Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Minimum 3-years experience
- Fluent in programming, setup, and operation of 3-axis Haas milling machines
- Fluent in Master Cam or equivalent
- Design and fabricate fixtures for mills
