About the Role:
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist, a licensed Radiologic Technologist, carries out all specified interventional procedures and responsibilities under the direct supervision of a qualified physician and/or the Lead IR Technologist. This role involves working in the Cardiovascular Center (CVC) and occasionally in the operating room (OR) for specific cases necessitating fluoroscopy with the C-arm.
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
· Associate degree in radiologic technology or equivalent military training in Radiologic Technology
· Radiologic Technologist License issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Radiation Control Board.
· Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology.
· Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Vascular – Interventional Radiography.
· CPR/BLS certification/training is required. ACLS certification is required within six months of hire.
· Proficiency in the use of all IR imaging equipment, including the C-arm, Angiojet, and ultrasound machine.
· Understanding of the unique needs and behaviors of patients across various age groups (child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
· Maintenance of all annual competencies per department policy.
