Operations and Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance and stewardship of university features and facilities and consists of Central Shops, Teams and Zones Maintenance.
Additionally, Zones Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, refrigeration, indoor air quality, indoor air handling systems, drinking fountains, and classrooms.
As the Senior Energy Technician in Operations and Maintenance Dept., you will:
- Perform building and system commissioning (retro, on-going, and new construction) activities including the inspection and evaluation of the operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment on campus.
- Inspect and evaluate each mechanical and electrical system in the building plus the overall operation of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, in conjunction with all other energy-consuming utilities within the entire building envelope.
- Utilize the building automation system (BAS) software, computers, meters, monitoring devices and measurement devices necessary to properly identify and diagnose problems.
- Establish the proper safety precautions to be observed, instruments to be used, and types of measurements necessary to perform the tasks required to perform commissioning.
- Test systems and adjust controls to ensure systems are properly functioning.
- Work with outside commissioning consultants and support Central Shops, Zones, Engineering, Utilities and Construction Teams in the installation of and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
