Artemis is seeking a Communications and Marketing Specialist with a strong background in content development, writing for various audiences and strategic communications for Federal clients.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer. They are a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in marketing consulting, preferably for federal clients. They are committed to providing superior service, poised under fast-paced pressure and have a positive and flexible attitude. They will lead and support innovative communications and marketing efforts across a variety of platforms, and they will ensure themes, messages and desired outcomes are consistent across media channels.
They are an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach a variety of target audiences, bringing expertise in areas from brand awareness to program promotion. The successful candidate will be proactive with demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment, all while developing compelling stories, narratives, key messages and well written content. Candidate must also have the ability to not only lead/support product development, but to work and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
This full-time position is located at Aptive Headquarters in Old Town Alexandria, VA; 100% Remote Work is also available.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research, write, edit and manage a broad range of communications materials (e.g., articles, blogs, brochures, campaign plans, fact sheets, flyers, video scripts, social media posts) under strict deadlines

Ensure developed products meet requirements for audience and tone in accordance with platform and that key messages are aligned with identified communication priorities.

Work with other writers to interview sources, develop content that conveys critical information reflecting key messages, fact check copy and edit material for distribution.

Develop the themes, concepts, messaging and distribution tactics for marketing materials and manage execution of all tasks on deadline.

Consult with web developers to create website content and manage website updates.

Gather, analyze, fact check and interpret information and data from various sources to inform content and campaign development and public relations.

Plan, generate and deliver client-ready materials for stakeholders, including leadership.

Schedule, lead and attend meetings on a regular basis.

Create and implement content calendars.

Write, review and edit content in compliance with AP style and other guidelines.

Review documents for stylistic and formatting consistency.

Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through a multiplicity of channels, ensuring channel is appropriate (social media, e-mail, TV etc.).

Assist in analysis of marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, marketing, public relations, and/or content development.

Bachelor’s degree in a related program, such as mass communications, marketing, advertising, public relations or journalism.

Consulting experience supporting large, complex Cabinet-level federal agencies (e.g., Department of Veterans Affairs)

Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
