Position Overview:
As an Assistant Superintendent for construction of luxury homes, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful completion of high-end residential projects from groundbreaking to final inspection. Working closely with the Superintendent, you will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate subcontractors, including self-performing crews, and maintain quality and safety standards throughout the construction process. Your expertise in construction management, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering superior craftsmanship will contribute to the creation of exceptional luxury homes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination and Management:
- Assist in the overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish.
- Schedule and supervise subcontractors and self-performing crews, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Monitor daily construction activities and progress, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
Quality Control and Assurance:
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship meets project specifications and luxury standards.
- Implement quality control measures to minimize defects and rework, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship throughout the build.
Safety and Compliance:
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing site safety protocols and regulations
- Ensure compliance with building codes, permits, and regulations throughout the construction process.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred, but related experience is acceptable.
- 3+ years minimum construction/project management experience, with increasing responsibility
- Field Experience required.
- Custom Home Building Experience, particularly in the “luxury” segment.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting construction plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle physical labor and strenuous tasks.
- Able to stand and walk the project site for an extended period of time.
- Regularly talk and/or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Occasionally required to but not limited to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move at least 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- Must be able to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments and on concrete floors.
