Job Summary:**
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at a Nursing Home, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to our residents. Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, promote their independence and well-being, and contribute to a safe and nurturing environment within our facility.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Personal Care Assistance:**
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living, while promoting dignity and respect.
- Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure residents' comfort and safety.
2. **Nutrition and Hydration Support:**
- Assist with mealtime activities, including serving meals, feeding residents who require assistance, and providing nutritional support as directed.
- Encourage residents to maintain adequate hydration by offering fluids and monitoring intake as appropriate.
3. **Vital Signs Monitoring:**
- Measure and record residents' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, according to established protocols.
- Report any significant changes or abnormalities in vital signs to licensed nursing staff promptly.
4. **Documentation and Reporting:**
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care activities, observations, and interactions in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Report any concerns or changes in residents' condition to the licensed nurse in a timely and thorough manner.
5. **Comfort and Emotional Support:**
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a caring and compassionate atmosphere within the nursing home.
- Respond to residents' needs and requests promptly, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity to their individual preferences and concerns.
6. **Safety and Infection Control:**
- Adhere to infection control practices and procedures to prevent the spread of illness and maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
- Assist with the implementation of fall prevention measures and other safety protocols to ensure resident safety at all times.
**Qualifications:**
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
- Current certification as a CNA in the state of Massachusetts.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.

**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to lift, push, or pull residents and equipment, as needed, with or without assistance.
- Stamina to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient for performing nursing procedures and using medical equipment.
**Work Environment:**
- The position involves working within a nursing home setting, which may include exposure to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, and challenging resident behaviors.
- Flexible scheduling may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage and meet the needs of residents.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
