Our Ideal Candidate Likely Has:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's degree a plus
- CPA license (or demonstrated progress towards obtaining CPA license)
- Minimum of 1 year of external audit experience or relative accounting experience
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and management skills
- Knowledge of GAAP & GAAS
- Flexibility to act autonomously while being a team player
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
External Audit Associate Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience auditing governmental entities
- Experience with ProSystem fx Engagement
External Auditor Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating the auditing of all required financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables
- Develop an understanding of the client's operations to understand client specific needs
- Understand and utilize audit methodology
- Address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise
- Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the audit team is efficient
- Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to Audit Senior
- Identify performance improvement opportunities
- Must be highly dedicated with a positive attitude, self-motivated, a team player who takes initiative and willing to learn
- Willingness to travel 25% of the year, depending on clients

BrooksWatson & Co is actively looking for an experienced Audit Associate. You will have the opportunity to work on multiple engagements in a variety of industries, with a focus on governmental entities. Candidates must have 1+ years of current or recent audit or relevant accounting experience and be comfortable with working in a virtual environment. We offer a flexible work environment that includes a combination of working remotely and from the firm office.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,500.00 - $85,000.00 per year
