Job description:
The Level 1 Inspector will perform final and in-process inspections. Additional responsibilities include tagging and reporting nonconforming product, collect data as assigned by supervisor, follow calibration requirements, and similar tasks. The Level 1 Inspector joins a team in the Inspection department and reports to the Quality Control Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Perform final inspections of product
- Perform quality inspections of work in process per job instruction requirements
- Review job documentation for completeness
- Document inspection results
- Tag and report nonconforming product
- Maintain inspection or test status of product being processed within work area
- Act to cause immediate work stoppage of production that does not meet specifications
- Check the calibration status of measurement instruments used by him/her to perform assigned inspection tasks
- Complete certifications as required
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures per the Quality Department
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Ability to perform basic measuring tasks using scales, tape measure, and precision tools
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading
- Ability to read and follow job instructions
- Willingness to learn nonconformance process
- Basic computer skills
- Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience
- MUST be able to speak, read, and understand English
Preferred skills
- 1-2 years of wiring harness industry experience
- Knowledge of IPC-620A
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. The employee will use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel; use arms and hands to reach, hold, and carry; and be required to listen and talk while walking. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. All lifting over 50 pounds requires the use of assistance either mechanical or from another team member. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position is in a moderate noise level environment.
