Wood & Cabinet Finisher - Join the Swan Creek Team!
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sanding cabinetry before painting or staining, and in between each coat
- Inspecting all wood parts before finishing
- Various stain application techniques
- Work in finish department using spray gun to lacquer, paint, and topcoat finished products
- Maintain and care of cleanliness of spray room, chemicals, and all finishing equipment
- Responsible for production work and learning the trade
- Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily weekly, project, or team related production goals
- Ability to effectively communicate with team and customers
- Ensures that sub-assembled and assembled items meet specific quality specifications; may propose process improvements in order to increase finished quality or efficiency of assembled processes
- Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers
- Works as a helper for various departments
Requirements:
- Can see color
- Have an eye for detail, and the ability to communicate well with others
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong mathematical and fraction experience
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Manual dexterity
- May be required to perform specific tasks that involve lifting, pushing or kneeling
- Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust
- Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks
- Excellent attendance
- Willing to submit to a criminal background check and drug screen
Desirable:
- Experience with spray guns (HVLP and/or air assisted), sanding, color blending, color matching, and touch-up
- Knowledge of specialty finishes and different wood types
- Carpentry skills and wood shop experience
- Proven leadership skills
This is a full time hourly position – Monday thru Friday. Occasional Saturday mornings as needed to meet demand. Experience welcomed, but not required for this position. Compensation is worked out on an individual basis to commensurate with experience.

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
