Position: Maintenance Automation Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Shift: 6:00am - 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, Saturday Possible
FLSA Status: Hourly
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Setup, program and maintain 6-axis robots and associated technology in a fully automated manufacturing cell.
- Install, program and repair PLCs, controllers, end-of-arm tools and sensors.
- Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety and quality.
- Perform preventative or corrective maintenance on robotic systems and components.
- Maintain service records of robotic equipment and automation systems.
- Troubleshoot robotic systems and associated equipment using knowledge of programmable logic controllers, electronics, circuits, sensors, etc.
- Assist and support of mechanical repairs of motors, conveyor systems, and other production or facility equipment as needed.
- Keep up to date with latest manufacturing technology and make recommendations for process or equipment improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: Must be able to operate, troubleshoot, repair and maintain robotic and associated production systems; follows directions exactly; conscious of safety at all times; excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must be comfortable working around heavy machinery and heat. Must work well as a team as well as independently.
Education Requirements: High school diploma required.
Experience Requirements: 2+ years of automation experience in an industrial environment.
Skill Requirements: Working command of the English language, effective communication skills (both oral and written) for instructions, memos, etc. Self-starting and able to remain on task. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Must be a forward thinker and a team player. Innovative, curious and detail oriented. Working knowledge of hydraulic systems required.
Physical Requirements: Job requires frequent twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs approximately 30 times during the day. Must be able to tolerate heat in the summer months.

- Life Insurance Our forging company automatically pays for a $15,000 life insurance policy for each employee. Additional life insurance may be purchased by the employee, up to $100,000 in employee coverage, $50,000 in spousal coverage, and $10,000 coverage per child.
