Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing quality care to our patients. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to the overall well-being and comfort of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures
- Provide wound care and dressings
- Perform gastric lavage and other specialized procedures as necessary
- Collect laboratory specimens and ensure proper labeling and documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication administration, and self-care techniques
- Provide pain management interventions as needed
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy to accurately assess patients' conditions
Skills:
- Proficient in senior care practices, including working with elderly patients with complex medical needs
- Knowledge of dialysis procedures and techniques
- Familiarity with hospice care principles and practices
- Ability to perform aseptic techniques to prevent infection
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, including anatomy knowledge
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements:
1. Graduation from an accredited LVN school.
2. Current LVN license issued by the State of California Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
3. Must maintain current CPR/BLS.
4. Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental and social needs of the patients.
