is currently hiring an experienced Dispatcher. Emergency call center or specific dispatch experience. This is a full time position. Office hours are 7 days a week 24 hours a day. OT is available and sometimes required.
Empire South services inc. is contracted by roadside and car manufactures for towing services on mostly high end vehicles. This is a very busy office environment with a large number of drivers on the road.
The Dispatcher is responsible for providing dispatch services to all tow truck drivers on the road. Providing route details and route coordination. This position also acts as the front desk receptionist and transfers calls to appropriate department. Basic Data Entry and Clerical tasks as assigned. High pressure, high demand work periods are part of towing and emergency services. You must be able to prioritize and deliver in extreme demand times, while being able to organize yourself to get done the rest of your assignments when the pressure is off. Receives road service request information from Emergency Road Service Call Counselors and dispatches calls to facilities using a variety of communication channels (e.g., radio, telephone, digital/computer data link). Relays all pertinent data to drivers (member situation, vehicle problem, location, etc.).
Prioritizes calls based on various criteria (safety, weather, traffic, etc.) and ensures that police and other emergency calls are handled within established time frames.
Makes optimal use of available resources to ensure that calls are completed within estimated time of arrival (ETA), that resources are efficiently deployed and routed, and that correct equipment is dispatched to meet members' needs.
Monitors computer screens to maintain continual awareness of overall status of resource availability and current deployment, and reallocates resources as needed to meet changing needs for service. Personally notifies member when service will be delayed (or initiates action for another function to do so).

Hourly rate of $15 to $18 per hour depending on your education, particular experience relating directly to this position, and specific training applicable to your skills for this position.
