Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, this individual will be responsible for computing monthly sales tax and rebates as well as a variety of accounting duties to support the Finance Department. The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Finance Team, working on close activities, reconciliations and expense analysis.
This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles and the general ledger. They will contribute to process improvement initiatives and implementation of policies and procedures to support the company growth.
Essential Duties including the following:
· Continuous oversight of the General Ledger; ensure all transactions are accounted for in accordance with GAAP.
· Support the month end close process: reconcile assigned accounts, research and resolve discrepancies, post journal entries, etc.
· Process and file S&U Tax returns with the proper municipality.
· Calculate monthly/quarterly/annual rebate payments.
· Update monthly expense analysis for internal departments and divisions.
· Assist with preparation for external audits and annual budgeting process.
· Track and file annual corporate reports by State.
· Prepare a variety of meaningful and accurate analysis/reporting files monthly.
· Support the Assistant Controller with special projects as needed.
· Contributes to building a positive team culture.
· Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
· 2-3 years of experience working with accounting software and/or ERP systems
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
· Ability to multitask and prioritize workload while adhering to tight deadlines.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication.
· Work with minimum supervision.
Education and Experience
· A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
· A minimum of 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience.
· Working knowledge of GAAP.
· Must possess superior analytical, problem solving and organization skills.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
