The individual in this position will support the School Facilities Manager in the overall care and upkeep of the school systems, buildings, grounds, building contents, vehicles, and equipment, etc. They will also be responsible for ensuring the maintenance is proactive, preventative, productive, professional, courteous, cost-effective, and efficient. Ensuring optimal use of personnel and resources at all times is vital.
The Facilities/Maintenance Support position will answer directly to the Facilities Manager, Head of School and the Executive Administrative Assistant.
ESSENTIAL POTENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Ensures all work orders are completed efficiently and in a timely manner
Maintains the Maintenance Calendar with daily & weekly tasks, yearly projects, important dates, expiration dates, equipment maintenance schedules, warrantees, personal time off and other items as appropriate
Provides support to Event Coordinators to ensure facilities are prepared as requested and optimize maintenance team schedules as it relates to special events
Prepares preliminary plans, specifications and cost estimates of assigned repair and alteration projects.
Participates in professional development via meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to optimally perform functions.
Performs related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school.
Establishes and follows preventative maintenance schedules as well as identifies and attends to unscheduled maintenance and repair requirements.
Regularly inspects buildings, mechanical areas, and grounds to ensure they are in keeping with life safety requirements.
Personally holds responsibility for the grounds and facility referring to form and function.
Communicates clearly and consistently with the Head of School and Executive Administrative Assistant about daily and long term projects and World Academy physical plant needs.
Maintains a clean and sanitary workplace and school environment.
Recommends actions to keep the quality of the environment high from year to year.
Is able to communicate with Teachers through maintenance emails to support their needs after discussing them with the Head of School.
Prioritizes jobs and presents them to the Head of School in order of need and in a timely manner.
