Responsibilities:
The Facilities Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and efficiency of our Reno site. This position requires a hands-on approach, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Activities
1. Facilities Maintenance:
- Develop a schedule for upkeep of the facility and coordinate completion of basic cleaning and maintenance.
- Coordinate, as needed, with outside contractors and vendors for facilities maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Coordinate the setup and maintenance of pest control, lawn care, external cleaning services, security, and inspections.
- Support out sourced janitorial labor; supplemental janitorial support may be required.
2. Preventative Maintenance:
- Develop a preventative maintenance program for the equipment used in production in accordance with the VSE quality program. This includes maintaining preventative maintenance records.
- Assist in performing preventative maintenance, as needed.
- Understand the complexities of the machines used in PCBA and assist in troubleshooting problems and performing maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinate calibration of equipment and tools.
3. Safety Leadership:
- Ensure that current OSHA standards are maintained and work to maintain a safe working environment for VSE employees and guests.
- Maintain the following safety programs? Lockout tagout, ladder safety, forklift certification, chemical hazards and SDS, HAZMAT cleanup, and emergency response.
- Lead and organize the Reno Site Safety Committee.
- Conduct/support safety training, as needed. Maintain training records.
- Maintain PPE supply.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in facility maintenance.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour training
- Strong knowledge of PCB and electromechanical assembly processes, manufacturing techniques, and quality standards is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
- Mechanically minded for troubleshooting PCBA machinery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and suppliers.
