Requirements
- B.S. in an engineering-related discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science) or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- 2-3 years of field service experience with industrial instrumentation and controls validation.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA creation.
- Familiarity with programs/software such as Rockwell Factory Talk, Tridium, Schneider Electric, Siemens Apogee, Ignition, Eaton Networks, Field Servers, Jace Controllers, Modbus RTU/TCP, Bacnet, Niagara.
- Knowledge and experience with Windows at the Power User level.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams, control diagrams, and MOP-building operations.
- Working knowledge of PLC, DDC, HMI, Contactor, Relay, Drives, and related components.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Day to Day
- Installation and Configuration: Oversee end-to-end system installation, integration, testing, and commissioning. Configure PLC programs to control machinery and processes.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose issues with PLCs, sensors, and actuators. Manage Predictive Maintenance Verification (PMV) and provide ongoing support. Perform flashing activities on IPCs, HMIs, PLCs, and other components. Debug faulty logic and communication errors.
- Programming and Logic Design: Write, modify, and test PLC programs. Design logical sequences for automation tasks.
- System Integration: Integrate PLCs with other control systems (e.g., SCADA, HMI). Ensure seamless communication between devices.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols during installation and maintenance. Implement emergency shutdown procedures.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep detailed records of changes, repairs, and upgrades. Report system performance and suggest improvements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, electricians, and maintenance teams. Provide technical support to customers.
