Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care during surgical procedures. Duties:
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, assessing their condition and providing appropriate care
- Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the surgeon
- Perform pre-operative assessments and educate patients about the surgical process
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document patient information, including medical history, medications, and treatment plans
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout the surgical experience
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Proficient in performing various surgical procedures, including aliment, IV infusion, spinal tap, catheterization, etc.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding and documentation requirements
- Ability to provide specialized care for patients with dementia or behavioral health needs
- Experience working in an emergency room or critical care setting is preferred
- Strong assessment skills to monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes promptly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the surgical team and provide emotional support to patients
