Special Education Teacher (LBS1)
Redwood Schools exists so that all students with literacy struggles can access their dreams. By cultivating hope and restoring confidence, we help students dramatically improve their literacy skills regardless of socio-economic background or learning differences. Redwood School offers programming, including Wilson Reading System, Woodin Math, and Writing Revolution, all designed with the unique needs of dyslexic K-8 students.
Redwood School is seeking a part time Math Teacher for SY 24-25 to join our team. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, optimistic, collaborative, organized problem solver who also possesses a strong desire to learn, grow and develop themselves professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and use student data to target the individual academic and SEL needs of students (ILP goals)
- Thoughtfully co-plan and flexibly implement lessons to meet student needs
- Create and maintain classroom management systems and data collection
- Collaborate with the Teaching Team to meet the needs of students and develop as an educator
- Maintain a safe and warm learning environment
- Effectively communicate with parents
- Participate in ongoing collaboration with the building administration regarding effective instructional strategies, student groups + pacing, and planning
- Utilize Redwood systems and curriculum with fidelity
Skills & Competencies:
- Behavior Management (LBS 1 Certified) preferred
- Experience/ Training with multi-sensory math programs preferred
- Working knowledge of cognitive and emotional learning differences
- Dedicated professional with experience using strategies to support academic and social-emotional success
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with students, parents and ILP Team Member
- Possess a general understanding of math standards for grades 16 and the ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs
- Committed individual with experience developing and implementing individualized goals and behavior plans
- Ability to collaborate professionally and effectively with staff
- Strong oral and written expression skills
- IEP/ILP Expertise
- Ability to create and effectively implement differentiated lesson plans
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
