About us
Urban Home Ownership Corporation (UHOC) was created as a non-profit tax exempt housing foundation in 1968 and for over half of a century has worked to develop decent, safe, and affordable housing for families. Since 1970, UHOC has developed both co-ops and rental projects and has been the catalyst for the preservation of urban neighborhoods in the Bronx, Manhattan in New York City and Jersey City, New Jersey.
```Duties```
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy of data
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing
```Requirements```
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, regulations and 32BJ
- Proficient in using payroll software (e.g., UltiPro, Ceridian)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
