POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Marketing Manager role is multifaceted, involving elements of both marketing and product management. It entails clearly defining and enhancing the value proposition and positioning of their assigned product(s). This individual has a deep understanding of their target audience’s everyday challenges and can succinctly explain how their product helps solve customer problems. Through close collaboration with product managers, marketing, and sales, the product marketing manager drives content development and facilitates sales enablement to foster business growth. Overall, the Product Marketing Manager’s role is the crucial link between product development, marketing, and sales ensuring that the right products are developed and successfully brought to market to meet the needs of customers while achieving the company's business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Market Research and Analysis: Collaborate with market research to conduct comprehensive studies to understand the needs, preferences, and behaviors of the target audience. This involves analyzing market trends, competitors, customer feedback, and industry data to identify opportunities and threats.
- Product Development: Collaborate with product management to conceptualize, design, and develop new products or enhance existing ones. Leverage a deep understanding of market needs to define product features, functionality, and user experience.
- Product Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's overall goals. This involves setting product goals, defining target markets, positioning the product, and assisting with establishing pricing and distribution strategies.
- Go-to-Market Planning: Create and implement go-to-market plans for new product launches or updates. This includes coordinating cross-functional teams (such as sales, marketing, product, customer support, and engineering) to ensure a cohesive and successful launch strategy.
- Marketing Communications: Collaborate with marketing to develop compelling marketing collateral, messaging, and positioning statements to effectively communicate the value proposition of the product to the target audience. This may include creating website content, sales materials, training materials, presentations, and advertising campaigns.
- Sales Enablement: Cultivate sales tools and provide comprehensive training to sales/training teams, emphasizing opportunity identification, and refining best practices and techniques for enhanced performance.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction. Use customer insights to inform product improvements and future development efforts.
- Performance Tracking and Optimization: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of marketing campaigns and product initiatives. Use data analytics and feedback mechanisms to optimize marketing strategies and product offerings continuously.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as sales, engineering, and customer support, to ensure alignment and collaboration across the organization. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for achieving common goals.
- Market Positioning and Differentiation: Identify unique selling propositions (USPs) and develop strategies to position the product effectively in the market. This involves understanding competitive landscapes and articulating the value proposition that sets the product(s) apart from alternatives.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, including executives, investors, and other teams within the organization. Keep stakeholders informed about product developments, milestones, and performance metrics.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position will have no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
SKILLS AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience working in product marketing and/or product management roles.
- Drive to help create products and create success as part of a high performing team.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate teams across a variety of functional roles.
- Passionate about the customers and demonstrated experience in building a relationship with them.
- Experience interpreting customer needs and market trends.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leading technical product plans and aligning business strategy and technology delivery.
- Proven change agent and strategic thinker.
- Proven track record of clear communications with C-suite stakeholders and across cross-functional teams.
- Data-driven method for decision making using KPIs and metrics.
- Ability to achieve a thorough knowledge of all Noregon products as well as competitive product lines, pricing, and market activity.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple timelines.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
- Ability to grow professionally in a fluid and fast-moving environment.
- Up to 25% travel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This is an active role that will require at times participating in on-site and off-site vehicle demonstrations. This would require the ability to enter heavy-duty vehicles in addition to standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, bending, and stooping as necessary.
- Basic motor skills and manual dexterity for extensive computer usage are required.
- Sitting for extended periods of time is required.
- Talking, hearing and close vision abilities are required.
- Ability to occasionally lift fifty pounds.
- Ability to withstand the stress of traveling, including extended hours driving.
