Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Optician/optometry assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional eyecare services to our clients. As an Optician, you will assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring their satisfaction with their visual aids.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and measurements to determine correct prescriptions
- Assist customers in selecting frames that complement their facial features and meet their prescription needs
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care, lens options, and frame styles
- Take accurate facial measurements to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses
- Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses, including frame adjustments and repairs
- Maintain inventory of eyewear products and accessories
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
Skills:
- Proficiency in sales techniques to effectively assist customers in choosing eyewear
- Knowledge of anatomy related to the eyes for accurate fittings and adjustments
- Familiarity with ophthalmology practices to understand prescription requirements
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations for maintaining patient confidentiality
- Physiology knowledge to assess eye health and conditions
- Ability to take vital signs related to eye health
- Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems
- Familiarity with medical billing procedures for eyecare services
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to eyewear fabrication
- Proficiency in medical terminology for effective communication with healthcare professionals
