The primary job duties for the Quality Control Specialist position, includes but not limited to:
- Provides quality control support to assigned area to ensure that product is built in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.
- Provides leadership and guidance to the production areas in support of product quality.
Essential responsibilities but not limited to:
- Communicates and interacts with production, engineering, production control and purchasing and our suppliers and customers on all subjects.
- Assist and support team members with problem solving, countermeasure development, and continuous improvement. Carry root cause through to corrective action.
- Provides support to assigned production area to include visual aids and inspection analysis and acts as the “go to” person on all questionable quality issues and make accept/reject decisions.
- Maintains customer contact for all responsible projects (New and Current).
- Maintain key performance indicators for plant site including activity to drive results based on the operations plan.
- Prepare summary reports to corporate office regarding quality performance.
- Review quality trends to prevent or reduce defects, determine causes, and initiate actions to correct them.
- Follow-up on all countermeasures developed for in house and customer problems.
- Conducts new member training for work instruction and key points related to quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Criteria
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
- Ability to analyze data and plan improvement activities.
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes, and materials.
- Exercise good judgement and uses statistical/analytical reasoning.
EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in the manufacturing field, business or quality engineering preferred.
- Quality certification a plus.
