We're looking for a motivated Import Logistics Coordinator looking for growth opportunities and ready to join our growing team in the New York office. Working with our overseas manufacturers, freight forwarders, customers, and internal departments (production, sales & shipping) to successfully book international shipments and ensure the on time deliveries of customer orders. Primary duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Coordinate w/ overseas factories to finalize the packing list for each shipment
- Prepare all the required shipping documents for manufacturers.
- Coordinate with suppliers & freight forwarders to make sure each shipment is booked, confirmed / approved, & shipped on time.
- Monitor the production status of each confirmed factory / production order.
- Lead communication with freight forwarder, port trucking companies, & customers regarding the delivery or scheduling pickups of containers to / from the ports.
- Track the arrival of all OMG factory shipments (containers), via air or boat.
- Alert OMG Team to any shipment delays & any customer PO deliveries that may be affected.
- Provide advance notice to OMG design & marketing teams of incoming new OMG styles.
- Assist OMG accounting w/ verifying all import vendors’ invoices are accurate.
- Oversee communications with the fulfillment center (DOT) & port trucking company on scheduling delivery appointments of each container.
- Upload OMG production shipment ASNs to WMS / ERP for warehouse receiving team to process incoming shipments.
Key for Success:
- High level organization & advance planning for all import logistics details
- Review & verify all shipping documents are complete & accurate prior to submitting to customers or vendors
- Clear communication on incoming shipment details with the warehouses / 3PLs
- Utilize an efficient check list / "to-do" list system to ensure all random last-minute requests / tasks are followed up on {attention to detail approach}
