Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our residents, employees, and visitors. Your role will involve monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling premises, and responding to security incidents. Primary Job Duties:
- Arrive early to receive briefing from outgoing shift. Brief incoming shift as required at the end of shift
- Ensure daily checklist is completed as ordered by shift lead.
- Patrol all areas of the property, including lobbies, corridors, pool deck, parking garages, stairwells, etc. using Proxiguard system.
- Patrol areas to detect/report and/or control fires, unsafe conditions and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
- Utilize Building Link property management system to input incident reports and/or maintenance requests.
- Investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, accidents, illness, violations of policies, and any other loss related event.
- Control all situations in a calm, professional, and hospitable manner.
- Ability to effectively deal with residents and guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, to collect accurate information and to resolve conflicts.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- Monitor and control The Plaza’s computerized Security Access system and Building Link system. Notify appropriate residents as needed.
- Responsible for logging in all visitors & employees of residents, and issue valet tickets or a parking pass.
- Responsible for signing in and out all keys and provide lock out service to residents or their guest, contractor, housekeeper etc... when needed.
- Understand all policies and assist residents/ staff whenever possible.
- When needed, always maintain cleanliness of The Plaza grounds areas. Rearrange chairs around pool and lounge. Pick up falling palm branches, debris from driveway, etc.
- Officer must be able to follow directions and react quickly during emergency situations. When required, communicate to 911 operators in a professional manner.
- Assist management and law enforcement officers in emergency situations.
- Provide timely and accurate information to proper chain of command on unusual conditions or situations.
- Promptly answer telephone calls using positive and clear communication.
- Ability to remember the names and apartment/unit number of residents in the buildings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by chain of command.
- When needed, early morning or late-night Valet parking services. Park and retrieve cars for residents. Assist resident or guests with their luggage. Provide exceptional service.
