Job Title: HR & Grants Coordinator
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Description:
This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a NYC non-profit organization that serves low-income immigrants, refugees, non-English speaking, and limited English Proficient communities. The position is required for managing both human resources functions and grant-related activities within the organization. The HR and Grants Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's HR functions and securing funding through successful grant management, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities:
· Conducting research about fundraising opportunities.
· Working with the CEO and other members of fund development team to develop and manage fundraising campaigns with effective utilization of social media and other platforms.
· Actively searching for potential funding opportunities and attending weekly/monthly meetings to discuss strategies/priorities.
· Identifying and utilizing the ingenious ways to raise awareness.
· Organizing and attending non-profit events and networking with relevant stakeholders.
· Establishing good relationships with staff, donors, members of the public, and the media.
· Writing, submitting, and uploading press releases as and when required.
· Writing funding proposals/grants and submitting these to potential donors/grantors.
· Attending in-person and virtual meetings as and when required.
· Maintaining daily attendance records of all the staff members, the personnel files
· Posting jobs on Indeed and LinkedIn, screening resumes and shortlisting candidates.
· Coordinating with the Finance department for payroll processing.
· Timely reporting of all HR and grant-related activities and plans.
Experience & Qualifications:
· A minimum bachelor's degree is required.
· 1-3 years of experience is required in fundraising/grant writing.
· Sound knowledge of the nonprofit sector.
· Experience managing or working with teams.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills.
Compensation: This is a part-time position for 25-30 hours per week. The compensation will be $20-$25 per hour and depends upon prior work experience and the competency level of the candidate.
