Summary of the Role
As a Controller / HR at Ravago Americas, you will lead the financial staff at our plant and be accountable for various plant-level responsibilities. This includes general accounting, payables, billing, cost accounting, business analysis, financial reporting, sales management, and ensuring the smooth flow of transactions within our operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare monthly reports of results, forecasts, annual operating plans, and strategic planning.
- Analyze and accurately report current month's financial results to plant, sales, and corporate management.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting.
- Internal Controls and Inventory Management
- Maintain internal controls for plant operations, sales, and finance.
- Ensure accuracy of physical inventory and reported results, investigating and explaining book-to-physical adjustments.
- Perform audits of bills of materials and maintain a perpetual inventory for finished goods.
- ERP/MRP Systems and Cost Management
- Document and understand ERP/MRP systems, hardware, and reporting conventions.
- Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution costs, returns, and inventory levels.
- Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
- Inter-Company Reconciliation and GAAP Adherence
- Reconcile all inter-company accounts monthly.
- Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies (GAAP) and resolve related questions with corporate financial management.
- Human Resources Support
- Assist with proactive recruiting and establish recruiting requirements based on organizational plans.
- Build applicant sources and increase visibility through community services, colleges, media, and internet sites.
- Ensure successful onboarding and improve manager and employee relationships.
- Implement and administer employee programs, policies, and procedures, providing training as necessary.
- Support managers and supervisors in using HRIS systems and assist with separations/terminations.
- Safety and Environmental Standards
- Maintain company safety and environmental standards, assist in reporting incidents, and provide employee information as needed.
- Uphold the company's Code of Conduct standards.
- Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Controller.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration.
- 5 years of experience as a plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership as part of a cross-functional plant management team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of proficiency in PC spreadsheets and ERP/MRP systems.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Comfortable working in a shared space with constant noise, with or without a private office.
- All injuries must be reported immediately to your Supervisor/HR.
- Ability to communicate verbally, read, and comprehend information.
- Regular use of hands on keyboards and other office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
