Position Details:
The Apprentice Electrician, you'll gain valuable experience working alongside a licensed electrician, learning the ins and outs of the industrial and commercial electrical trade. You'll be exposed to a variety of tasks, gaining a well-rounded understanding of electrical systems, from installation and maintenance to troubleshooting and repair. Apprentice electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate should be experienced in different kinds of electrical component installations in industrial and commercial installations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist in installation of wiring and Conduit such as EMT, Rigid conduit, MC cable, strut, and cable trays.
- Assist installation, maintenance, and repair electrical systems such as Switchgears, MCCs, Panel Boards, Switch Boards, Transformers, Lighting Systems, and power supplies.
- Measure, cut, and bend conduit, utilizing table benders, smart benders and hand tools.
- Install, wiring and components of control systems including data communications wiring.
- Modify and Install equipment adding components and wiring for Control Systems.
- Read, interpret, and follow electrical schematics, marking up modifications as necessary.
- Examine electrical equipment for loose connections and broken insulation and complete repairs as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize future issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Position Requirements
- 2+ years of electrical experience working in a commercial or industrial setting
- Experience in conduit bending up to 4” and experience with basic electrical systems
- Demonstrate ability to use electrical and hand tools and read electrical drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and practices.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to lift, maneuver and manipulate heavy equipment for installation in tight spaces.
Preferred Requirements Apprentice Electrician:
- Ability to travel up to 75%
- OSHA 10 and forklift certification
- Experience working with electrical systems such as switchgears, MCCs, Panel Boards, Switch Boards, Transformers, lighting, and power supplies.
- Prior military service with honorable discharge a plus DD214 required.
