Description
The Senior Digital Specialist for Content will plan, develop, execute and oversee execution of strategic digital content that further Children's mission, vision, and strategic plan. Will write and edit web, social, email content text, images, video and activities associated with digital. Lead and project manage critical projects for digital. Act as responsible point person for projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
5 years experience working in an enterprise website environment (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Proven understanding of the web environment with the ability to create and curate engaging content without extensive editing for supervision.
Ability to display initiative, work autonomously, and offer solutions to problems.
Displays sound judgment and is able to make independent decisions guided by the business goals of the department and organization.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize workload.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including AP Style.
Functional Accountabilities
Web Content Development and storytelling
- Serve as a key storyteller for Children's National in the online environment, and develop web content to support a wide range of services and user groups.
- Collaborate with marketing team to ensure that content aligns with user needs and sensibilities
- Manage prioritization of messages/information to ensure strategic marketing outcomes.
- Work with key stakeholders throughout the organization to establish and create effective strategic digital programs to drive organizational growth goals.
- Partner with PR team to ensure that Children's National news is shared online in a compelling, engaging way
- Explore new and innovative tactics for digital communications.
Digital Center of Excellence
- Monitor industry trends and best practices and integrates into planning.
- Work with web and marketing leadership to develop programs to strengthen and analyze SEO, using results to refine content.
- Be capable to understand and utilize market data and analysis to inform content planning.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, and develop and maintain strong working relationships with departments to ensure digital channels are updated frequently and accurately .
Communication Platforms
- Work with web and marketing leadership, to partner in the development of robust owned content platforms to support Children's objectives.
- Serve as the primary content creator and strategist for an engaging consumer/parent blog.
- Partner with PR, marketing and research communications to develop and curate news content for other platforms, directed at physicians, researchers and/or general public in alignment with PRM objectives.
Content Management System
- Work efficiently within the content management system - make updates to templates, create new pages, assign taxonomy, edit and images.
- Can train others on how best to accomplish tasks and get desired results on the website.
- Can lead a client through a new department or section and gather feedback related to their requirements.
