Christel House Schools is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. Christel House Schools is a growing network of high performing charter schools dedicated to serving low-income, urban students in Indianapolis.
FLSA: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides support to the principals by performing a variety of administrative functions required for the operation of the campus and instructional school programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.

Create, maintain, and enter information into Powerschool.

Operate office equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, or phone systems and arrange for repairs when equipment malfunctions.

Greet visitors or callers and handle their inquiries or direct them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.

Maintain scheduling and event calendars.
-
Conduct searches to find needed information, using sources as the Internet.

Mail newsletters, promotional material, or other information.
-
Collect monies for items such as uniforms.
-
Compile and maintain student records.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
-
Pull reports or files as needed.
-
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operations of the schools.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Associate’s degree or college credit hours equivalent to an Associate’s degree.
-
Proficient typing skills, including computer proficiency with Office products and web based programs, including extensive data entry.

Spanish language skills (spoken and written) preferred.
-
Strong English grammar skills.
-
Exceptional customer service skills.
-
Evidence of a strong work ethic and high degree of organizational skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit for long periods of time

Ability to reach with hands and arms

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
