O’Brien Steel warehouses and distributes a full line of carbon steel products and also has significant processing capabilities. Purchasing Agent/Buyer:
We are seeking a highly motivated and professional buyer to join our purchasing team. This position will work with internal sales personnel and third party vendors to forecast and fulfill warehouse inventory requirements for a steel service center. The position may also facilitate outside processing to sub-contract vendors. This position may also be responsible for working with internal customers and vendors to satisfy company non-inventory requirements.

- Proven analytical skills
- Demonstrated history of relationship-building
- Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-company environment
- 2-4 years of experience in a purchasing function preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- MRP and/or contract experience a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
