Position Overview:
Children’s Home Society, a leading provider of services to vulnerable men, women, children, and families in South Dakota, is seeking a Full-Time Clinic Nurse for our Rapid City Psychiatric & Outpatient Clinic. This role is vital to assess and support our multidisciplinary team in treatment as we strive to meet the health needs of the children and families we serve. What You'll Do:

Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver professional nursing services to the patients we serve.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient age-specific clinical needs.

Administer medications and treatments as ordered.

Maintain thorough medical documentation.

Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise.

Ensure that care follows the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide patients with best practices and research-based evidence.

Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles and adhere to policies and procedures established by Children’s Home Society and other accrediting bodies.

Maintain and implement current infection control policies to provide a healthy environment for colleagues and patients/clients of Children’s Home Society.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, medical team, therapists, overseeing agencies, families, and the public.

Develop, implement, and teach guidelines/procedures related to medical information to staff as needed.

Educate patients about self-care and lifestyle changes that can contribute to the success of a treatment.

Maintains confidentiality and communicates clearly.

Requirements:
Education:
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program preferred.
License/Certification:
-
Licensed Registered Nurse in South Dakota or meet multi-state licensure requirements.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (can be obtained within six months of hire). Valid South Dakota Driver License required.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years nursing experience required as well as a thorough knowledge of nursing practice and standards of nursing care.
