**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and fabricating equipment components. Applicant will also be responsible for driving residents, when needed. The successful applicant will be able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other team members, to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
**Duties:**
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
- Fabricate equipment components using various materials and tools.
- Utilize electrical skills to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics to diagnose and repair electrical issues.
- Conduct tests using an Ohmmeter to ensure electrical systems are functioning properly.
- Supervise and assist other maintenance staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Weld equipment components and perform other welding tasks.
- Participate in safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Provide technical support to other departments and team members.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and ability to read schematics.
- Experience with welding and fabricating equipment components.
- Proficiency in English is necessary for effective communication with team members.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require standing, walking, or climbing for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle.
