**Job Overview**
We are seeking an experienced Biller to join our medical office team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing and managing patient billing, ensuring a high level of efficiency and customer satisfaction. **Duties**
- Utilize medical records and medical terminology to accurately identify patient information and assign relevant codes for billing purposes.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of patient bills, including claims submissions and follow-ups.
- Utilize ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to assign proper diagnosis and procedure codes for billing purposes.
- Review and manage patient accounts, including identifying and resolving any billing discrepancies or issues.
- Collaborate with the medical team to gather necessary information for billing purposes, including patient diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical coding systems, including DRG, to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of medical billing systems and insurance claims processing.
- Utilize medical office software and other computer systems to manage patient billing and office operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, answering billing questions and resolving any concerns.
- Participate in ongoing medical billing training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and standards.
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Proficiency in ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical records.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with medical billing software and computer systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
