We are looking for an innovative electronic engineer to design, develop and install a range of projects supporting the National Aerospace System of the Federal Aviation Administration. This is for our office in the greater Seattle area

This is a Bargaining Unit Position with NATCA-X: The National Air Traffic Controllers Association.
Duties:
Serve in one of several typical electrical engineer roles: Resident Engineer (90% travel), Design Engineer (25% travel), hybrid roles (between 25-90%)
Develop engineering designs and site adaptation of standard engineering designs. Conducts site surveys for facilities and systems, as well as, develops and coordinates project scope, cost estimates, facility and NAS risk mitigation, project schedules, resource requirements, and project closeout for assigned projects.
Conducts engineering analysis and studies for establishment, sustainment and maintenance projects. Estimates, manages, and accounts for funding of assigned projects. Reviews and approves contractor submittals. Interfaces with Logistics on contract awards, contract modifications and materials acquisitions.
Performs the full range of construction and/or installation activities including the conduct of daily operations, overall schedule reviews, drawing approvals, project coordination, safety and environmental requirements, and interfacing with Logistics on contract awards, contract modifications and material acquisitions. Performs the full range of Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) duties for implementation construction and installation activities. Accountable for ensuring conformance with established FAA regulations, policies, and procedures.
Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments and plans the implementation of projects/programs under limited direction of a manager, a project/program manager, or more experienced engineer. Applies experience and advanced knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and concepts to accomplish assigned design and installation of navigation and landing aid projects such as instrument landing systems and approach lighting systems. Understands how his/her technical area interacts with other disciplines, and considers the interactions and impacts of all disciplines on projects. Defines, plans, and organizes assigned resources to accomplish organizational objectives.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating an engineering plan. They should have experience with AutoCAD and be able to utilize strong design skills in order to create engineering drawings. By utilizing strong organizational and communication skills, this candidate will also have the ability to execute a project based on the criteria outlined.
Typical Electronics Engineering Projects
- Voice Switch Installation and Trouble Shooting Oversee contractor installation and integrate system with other FAA equipment
- Radio Replacement Install and test new Motorola radios at FAA facilities
- Cable Installation Running cables to inter-connect FAA systems, 66-blocks, Amphenol connectors, DB connectors
- Testing and Trouble Shooting Collect test data for numerous FAA electronics systems including Communication, Radar, Automation, Surveillance, and Navigational Aids
- Electronics Design Support work with FAA electrical engineer to define requirements and implement regarding grounding, power, cable tray, conduit and lighting
- Fiber Optics design and install Fiber Optics systems to connect FAA facilities
- Contracting Officer Representative On-site Technical Representative for contractors which includes small construction projects and nationally procured electronics systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- For an office engineer position, which is 30% travel or less: Minimum 3 years of engineering experience related to electronic installation or construction experience
- For an entry level engineer position. No electronic installation experience required, but must be open to 90% travel.

- AutoCAD drafting
- Primavera Scheduling
- Microsoft Excel

Pay: $61,000.00 - $152,000.00 per year
