At Northview Montessori, we believe in nurturing the innate curiosity and potential of every child. Our Montessori-inspired environment fosters independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. We're not just a school - we're a community where children, educators, and families grow together.
Why we need you:
You are the linchpin that keeps our preschool running smoothly, allowing our teachers to focus on what they do best – guiding our young learners. Your organizational skills, attention to detail, and warm personality will create the foundation for a well-functioning school environment. Without your dedication, our teachers would be bogged down in administrative tasks instead of fostering the growth of our young students.
But your role goes beyond the office. As a classroom aide, you'll have the unique opportunity to directly impact our children's lives. Your ability to seamlessly transition between office duties and classroom support is crucial to maintaining the high-quality, individualized attention that defines the Montessori approach. Your presence ensures that our little ones receive consistent care and education, even when regular staff members are absent.
In essence, you're the glue that holds our Northview Montessori family together, supporting both the operational and educational aspects of our school. Your contribution will be felt in every corner of our preschool, from the smiling faces of children to the peace of mind of our staff and parents.
Here's what you'll be doing:
You'll typically work from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for additional hours as a substitute teacher. Your days will be a dynamic blend of direct interaction with children and behind-the-scenes operational support.
* Maintain a warm and welcoming office environment, often serving as the first point of contact for visitors
* Create monthly newsletters, keeping our community informed and engaged
* Start your day by creating a welcoming environment for our toddlers and preschoolers during early morning care (7:30-8:30 AM).
* Order and restock classroom materials, ensuring our learning environments are always prepared
* Supervise outdoor recess, building relationships with students and supporting their social and physical development.
* Play a crucial administrative role by maintaining student immunization records and planning engaging classroom visitors
* Step in as a substitute teacher when needed, applying your knowledge of Montessori principles
* Conduct monthly safety sweeps, ensuring the safest spaces for young explorers to thrive.
* Guide Milestone Moments: Support toddlers in their journey to independence through diapering and encouraging toilet training progress.
* Design eye-catching bulletin boards and posters that brighten our school environment and communicate important announcements.
* Collaborate closely with our director and teachers, providing valuable administrative support to keep our center running smoothly.
You need these qualifications:
* You have at least one year of experience in an administrative role, showcasing your organizational and multitasking abilities
* Your proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is evident in your efficient handling of daily tasks
* You possess a current CPR certification and Boise City Childcare License (or are eager to obtain them with our support)
* You have experience with young children and your love for children shines through in every interaction
* You thrive in an active environment and enjoy the physical aspects of working with young children, such as sitting on the floor and carrying up to 20 pounds
It would be nice if:
* You have experience working in a childcare, preschool, or elementary classroom setting
* You bring familiarity with or enthusiasm to learn about Montessori educational principles
* You have experience with design software like Canva for creating engaging visual communications
