Clinical IT
Responsible for enhancing, supporting, and maintaining clinical applications. Responsibilities include optimization of the application through development of new functionality, testing and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects. Works with cross functional application teams and clinical personnel by providing education on system functionality, and configuration of new tools to increase end user productivity within the applications. Ensure system changes follow change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain all documentation for all assigned applications, and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications. Communicates all necessary application changes, enhancements, and procedures to all necessary internal department teams.
Responsibilities
- Able to assimilate feedback from peers and actively drive process improvement and implemented/approved by leadership.
- Uses professional knowledge and experience to advise on optimal workflows and system functions.
- Install, configure and maintain clinical software applications in EHR systems
- Perform regular updates and patches to ensure systema are up to date and secure
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to clinical software
- Provide technical support to healthcare staff, including providers, nurses, mental health associates and administrative personnel
- Conduct training sessions to ensure users are proficient with EMR
- Openly shares this knowledge with peers, via Peer-to-Peer training.
- Data Management and Reporting: to ensure the accuracy, integrity and security of clinical data.
- Generate and analyze reports from clinical systems to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows through technology
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in healthcare IT
- Has excellent communication skills verbally and in writing, customer service focus, and is able to work independently or on a team.
- Independently monitors own work for accuracy and thoroughness.
- Prioritizes own tasks and assists with task identification and documentation.
- Understands project deliverables and level of effort to complete. Participates in the strategic planning process.
- Drives to incorporate Lessons Learned into department practice/methodology, including process improvement.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a clinical or healthcare related discipline
- Experience with installation/analysis of clinical electronic healthcare systems. Knowledge of Meditech EMR a plus
- 2 years of experience in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of hospital/healthcare departmental processes
- Psychiatric experience preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to organize and analyze detailed information and present it in a variety of formats for business, executive, and technical audiences
- High level of initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must have strong documentation skills, organization skills, and the ability to interact with team members cross-functionally.
