ABOUT IAC
Inter Agency Council of Developmental Disabilities Agencies, Inc. (IAC) champions, supports and advises over 155 member agencies who are New York’s leading providers of support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The goal of a society that appreciates and encourages all, whatever their differences or disabilities, is within reach. While there is much we still don’t know about brain, body, and behavior, we know more all the time about how to support and encourage people with challenges. The dramatic improvements of recent years—the doubling of life expectancy for people with disability, for one thing— inspire us all to do more. We envision a new landscape of possibilities in which everyone gets the supports they need to realize their potential.
We look forward to a time when inclusion will be taken for granted.
The mission of the Inter Agency Transportation Solutions (IATS) is to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of adults with developmental disabilities to and from their IAC day services programs throughout the Greater New York Metropolitan Area. IATS manages our members' transportation services so they can concentrate on the real work of providing services and support to the people attending their day programs. From ensuring staff are trained, to inspecting equipment and supporting route management, IATS is committed to ensuring quality and cost-efficient transportation services for IAC members. IATS secures the best pricing and service options for its member agencies through a competitive bidding process across a diverse group of transportation vendors, to minimize costs for member agencies.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) provides customer service and technical assistance to all IATS stakeholders – liaising between IAC, member agencies, transportation vendors and IATS riders and their advocates. A primary function of the Customer Service Representative is to engage with all stakeholders in a professional and solution-oriented manner. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. In addition to managing fast paced and at times, high pressured, communications, the CSR is responsible for utilizing various reports in the IATS database and monitoring GPS tracking software to facilitate communication among stake holders, including keeping all IATS staff informed on day-to-day operations. CSR responsibilities are wide-reaching: from updating an IATS rider on the status of their bus arrival time to helping a member agency understand their utilization trends and make informed decisions, along with other responsibilities at the discretion of IAC/IATS.
