Title of Position: Vice President of Ready-Mix Operations
Compensation: $250,000-$325,000 base annually plus executive annual bonuses based on personal and company performance. Up to $400,000+ in total compensation.
FSLA: Exempt
Location: Greater Detroit Metro

So what does the Vice President of Ready-Mix Operations do?
-
Oversight of 7 ready-mix plants in the greater Detroit Metropolitan and Marshall, MI.

Oversight and leadership of the entire ready-mix workforce, including regional leadership, plant managers, plant supervisors, and drivers within the company.

Develop strategies and implementation priorities aligned with rapidly evolving business requirements and integrate them into a high-performance and cost-efficient structure.

Design, implement and maintain an effective, efficient organizational structure to successfully support current and future business strategies.

Lead change management activities and provide strong leadership to the localization teams by focusing on employee development and performance and ensuring teams continually acquire new skills.

Implement and help to improve company operational procedures, policies and standards.

Review P&L financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.

Coach and challenge staff in order to develop future organizational leaders and participate in the mentoring of new management employees.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations/permits and Group guidelines in area of responsibility.

Report company performance to ownership, and work with ownership to advance the organization’s goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience overseeing a multi-plant ready-mix concrete operation with a strong historical record of success.

Record of success in high-tech, high production concrete, and DOT work.

Minimum 10 years of ready-mix concrete or construction industry experience.

Minimum of 5 years of P & L financial responsibility.

A college degree is highly preferred, particularly in business management, operations management, or construction management.

Strong technical and communication skills.
-
A commitment to team concepts, ownership, and an outgoing personality.

Experience and understanding of working within a budget.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of WINDOWS (basic applications), Microsoft Office Suite, ConcreteGo and Digital Fleet software systems.

Extensive knowledge of the Aggregates, Ready Mix, and Asphalt business, customers, competitors, products and manufacturing processes.

Strong track record of accomplishments within the areas of safety & health, employee development, change management and team leadership.
Working Conditions:

Able to work extended hours as needed – 55+ hours during the peak season.
