Job Title: Instructor - Cosmetology
Reports To: Campus Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Provides fully prepared instruction to students in line with the school's mission and goals. Engages actively in retention and attendance activities by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Teaches the school mandated cirriculum.*
2. Prepares, presents, and supplements as needed all lesson plans for assigned classes according to the school's curriculum.*
3. Provides assistance for the planning, development, and maintenance of program curriculum.*
4. Maintains classroom structure and discipline.*
5. Maintains accurate and current academic records.*
6. Maintains a working knowledge of the school’s SAP policy, rules, grading policies, criteria, practical requirements, and state regulations.*
7. Enforces rules and regulations of the school, BPPE, BBC, and other agencies.*
8. Maintains a thorough, accurate, and current knowledge of the subject matter taught.*
9. Provides annual documentation of continuing professional growth.*
10. Attends scheduled programs meetings, school in-service workshops and staff meetings.*
11. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the school's mission and vision.*
12. Acts as liaison between administration and students.*
13. Adheres to and publicly support the school policies and procedures, included but not limited to the staff handbook and course catalog.*
14. Attends school functions when possible.*
15. Maintains up to date product knowledge.*
16. Maintains communication throughout department and management.*
17. Assists the Admissions Department in giving potential students a tour of the facility.
18. Utilizes point-of-sale system to check in clients and tender transactions properly.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, Google, Gmail, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three yearsrelated experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
Cosmetology license - state approved
