Using a CNC lathe, perform programming, setup and machining to produce high quality custom machine parts. Save all up-to-date CNC programs with support documents to designated file folders for repeat work orders.
Major Duties
- Produce production parts. Must ensure parts are being made to drawing or to CREW’s common shop tolerance and practice, in the event it is a pre-finishing operation.
- Has the ability to use Mastercam Software to program part from Solidworks model.
- Must know how to use CNC G & M codes to program at the machine.
- Saves CNC programs after completions of job, records all pertinent information, fills out setup sheets.
- Inspects part in machine and fills out inspection report and job traveler
- Review blueprint and E-drawings to detect print errors related to work being performed.
- Ability to use MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT and locate pertinent job information
- Must use E-drawings to locate pertinent job information.
- Keeps desktop computer and keyboard clean and safe from damage.
- Performs the final polishing and finishing of part.
- Rustproof and wraps roll and put into crate and put cover on crate.
- Deburr finished part.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area.
- Perform material handling as required
- Straighten rolls and shafts as required by use of torch or hydraulic press.
- Load and unload product on the machine.
- Ensure all machine parts are properly protected.
- Obtain shop supplies and material required to run the job
- Return all blueprints to the print rack
- Accurately logs in and out each day and enters timekeeping data into Job-Boss Workstation Driver
- Performs daily machine maintenance and completes daily maintenance sheet.
- Follows all standard CREW shop practices and ISO work instructions..
- Communicates to other operators and supervisors information regarding work procedures being used and anticipated on the job. Provides complete written work instructions to coworker at shift-change.
