Food Service Worker

Prepares and cooks family style meals for residents and staff following all government regulations by performing the following duties.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

No prior experience or training required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Duties the employee is required to perform that have a major impact on the delivery of services to our clientele

Reporting to work in a timely manner
-
Scheduling, attending, and completing annual agency trainings
-
Preparing and properly cooking food in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served
-
Handling special menu requests as needed
-
Standardization of recipes and of portion control, to prevent waste and assure high quality products.

Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floor in the kitchen and dining room area.

Placing orders for supplies with his/her supervisor in a timely manner.

Ensuring all truck deliveries are unloaded, checked, signed, labeled, and put away when supplies arrive in a timely manner.

Reporting and inventory of all storage supplies monthly to the Food Services Supervisor.

Proper tracking and information as required under the Free and Reduced Meal program with the Department of Education.

Proper training and compliance with all regulatory trainings related to food safety.

Proper labeling and storage of food items as per regulatory guidelines

Being aware of client allergies in preparation of food items and meal planning
