The Atlantic Group has partnered with a reputable real estate company looking for an Assistant Controller/ Accounting Manager to join their team!

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a portfolio of properties, directly supervising Senior Property Accountants and Property Accountants. Ability to manage a team. Supervision of staff and mentoring are key to this role. It is critical to retain highly performing staff to ensure that the department functions at its highest level.
- Supervise a team of five
- Oversee, monthly, quarterly and year end closings for properties in accordance with GAAP, tax basis and cash basis accounting procedures.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, financial analysis, and budgeting
- Ensure the accuracy of property rent rolls, financial reports, budgets, and cash projections
- Handle ad hoc accounting and financial projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
- Must have experience in Construction accounting, Residential real estate accounting, Commercial real estate accounting
- Public accounting experience will also be considered.
- Confident in presenting financial reports
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
- Proficient in financial software systems and Microsoft Windows programs
- Experience with Yardi is a plus
- The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and an eagerness to learn.
