Responsibilities: Guided by department objectives and priorities, and with the direction of the General Ledger Accounting Manager, performs various activities associated with maintaining general ledger accounts and the monthly accounting system. Prepares detailed reconciliations for domestic and international bank accounts as well as other assets and liabilities. Maintains the Firm’s Fixed Assets System and responsible for all aspects of fixed assets accounting. Prepares and provides information for accounting reports and period-end close. Ensures best practice in accounting and procedures, maintenance of financial records, and account analysis and reconciliations. Ensures client services and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position.
Essential functions:
Accounting Services
1. Detailed Journal Entries: Prepare detailed journal entries in domestic and international office general ledgers using information obtained from various departments as part of the monthly close. Journal entries include payroll transactions for international offices, payroll and payroll tax disbursements, fixed assets acquisitions and disposals, depreciation and amortization expense, general ledger reclassifications, foreign currency transactions, bank transfers, investment purchases and redemptions, partner capital loans, various payroll withholding transactions, etc.
2. Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed bank account reconciliations for the Firm’s largest and main operating bank account, and other domestic and international accounts as assigned. Reconcile various balance sheet accounts and prepare various monthly schedules. Maintain and reconcile Positive Pay data for the payroll disbursement account. Apply detailed research, analytical, and problem- solving skills in resolving outstanding items on bank and GL reconciliations, performing trial balance variance analyses, and validating the accuracy of GL account balances. Provide technical assistance and procedural guidance for appropriate audience.
3. Fixed Assets Accounting: Independently maintain and reconcile data firm-wide in the Fixed Asset System. Ensure all fixed assets transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger according to the Firm’s accounting guidelines. Perform all fixed assets reconciliations between the general ledger and the fixed assets system.Prepare detailed fixed assets reports at both the Firm and office levels. for twice-yearly fixed assets inventory confirmation. Provide detailed fixed assets analysis and reports to all office Directors of Administration for the Firm’s fixed assets review as part of the audit process. Provide detailed fixed assets analysis and reports to the FP&A Team for budget and financial projections and assist with the capital expenditure and depreciation budget forecasts.
4. Tax and Real Estate Department Support: Provide detailed fixed assets analysis and reports to the Tax and Real Estate departments for various tax filings and office space planning projects, e.g., income tax returns, property tax returns, net book value forecasts, etc. Prepare detailed fixed assets analysis and reports for property, sales/use and other tax audits.
5. Proof of Cash Analysis: Prepare the Proof of Cash analysis for the interim and annual audit related to one’s assigned cash accounts to reconcile the cash receipts per bank and per books to the Firm’s reported revenues.
6. Audit Support: Assist the General Ledger Accounting Manager during the interim and annual audit by preparing fixed assets and depreciation lead schedules, retrieving document support, preparing account analyses, preparing bank and debt confirmation letters, etc.
7. Ad Hoc Projects: Assist the General Ledger Accounting Manager with ad hoc projects that increase the value of accounting and finance services to clients, attorneys, timekeepers, and the Firm, e.g., Foreign exchange gain/loss allocations, internal control documentation, electronic maintenance of accounting work-papers, and accounting process documentation.
8. Compliance and Control: Ensuring adherence to internal accounting controls, policies and procedures and continuously evaluate processes to maximize efficiencies.
Financial Reporting
1. Assist the General Ledger Accounting Manager in preparing reliable information for reporting to key external vendors and service providers, including auditors, tax accountants, underwriters and their representatives, and loan providers.

Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration highly preferred.
2. At least three (3) years of relevant financial accounting and general ledger experience.
3. Direct experience in general ledger account and bank reconciliations and analyses, variance analyses, maintaining and analyzing accounting ledgers with multiple entities, the month-end journal entry process, and financial reporting.
4. Direct experience in maintaining all aspects of Fixed Assets reporting.
5. Demonstrated experience in preparing detailed accounting schedules in Excel.
6. Legal or professional services background with international exposure preferred.
7. Experience in Elite Enterprise and/or Elite 3E is a plus.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
