We are a leading meat distribution company committed to delivering top-quality meat products to our customers nationwide. To support our growth and ensure effective financial management across our multiple locations, we are seeking a talented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team.
Summary/Objective:
The CFO is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our business operations across multiple locations. including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The CFO also manages Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) and advises the Company on financial decisions. The CFO is expected to develop good relationships with customers, suppliers, and key third parties. The CFO’s strategic financial leadership will be instrumental in driving our company's growth and profitability while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the operations of the finance and accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
· Ensure the timely and accurate production of monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
· Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
· Prepare budgets and financial forecasts, and report variances.
· Provide financial analysis, management reports, and recommend actions based on sound analysis.
· Manage cash flow, financing, and capital investment strategies.
· Manage the processing of all AP and AR.
· Oversee payroll.
· Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
· Establish and maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
· Coordinate and support the preparation for tax filings with our external accounting firm.
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
· Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
· Manage payroll and employee benefits administration.
· Assist in the development of internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
· Advise on the financial implications of business activities and provide decision support.
· Lead and mentor the accounting department to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
· Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a distribution center environment.
· Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
· Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Experience with Canopy accounting software preferred.
· Excellent analytical skills and experience in creating financial statements, forecasts, and budgets.
· Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and develop a team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
Compensation:
· Base Salary: Competitive package of $250,000 - $450,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
