Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair alarm systems in residential and commercial buildings
- Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality
- Program and configure alarm systems according to customer specifications
- Conduct site surveys to assess the best locations for alarm system installation
- Collaborate with customers to determine their specific security needs and provide appropriate solutions
- Provide training to customers on how to operate and maintain their alarm systems
- Keep accurate records of all work performed and materials used
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and low voltage wiring standards
- Experience with fire alarm systems and understanding of fire codes and regulations
- Familiarity with computer networking principles and protocols
- Possession of a valid certificate in alarm system installation or related field is preferred
- Proficiency in cabling techniques, including running wires, terminating connections, and testing cables
- Mechanical knowledge to install equipment, mount devices, and perform basic repairs
- Ability to use power tools safely and effectively
- Understanding of electrical schematics and ability to interpret technical drawings
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
