Position Summary:
Renovo Financial is seeking dynamic Controller candidates to increase the leadership structure of the accounting department within the rapidly growing organization. The Controller will be responsible for managing all activities related to Renovo’s financial accounting, internal and external reporting, and banking. The Controller has a highly visible role at Renovo Financial, working directly with management and departmental leaders across the organization. This position will meaningfully contribute to both the financial and operational aspects of the business through collaboration with other leaders.
This position will be given opportunities to expand and change responsibilities as the organization grows and evolves. This position will function in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities:
· Preparing month-end consolidated financial reporting package
· Contributing to month-end closing processes for complex areas
· Monitoring and preparing external covenant reporting
· Leading annual financial statement and bank audits with outside professionals
· Participating in routine treasury related activities
· Organizing accounting staff workloads to ensure accountability for schedules and deadlines
· Leading, developing, and training accounting staff members
· Documenting and standardizing departmental procedures and controls
· Implementing automation techniques to increase department efficiency
· Assisting with research on emerging accounting standards
· Ad hoc and emerging activities within the accounting or finance department
Ideal Candidate:
· Licensed CPA with 10 years of professional experience, including within public accounting
· Significant experience preparing financial statements including multi-entity consolidations
· Experience with formalizing and documenting departmental policies and procedures
· Proven track record of building, developing, and leading a team of accountants.
· Advanced skills with Microsoft EXCEL
· Superior communication skills: written, spoken, and analytical
· Prior experience with financial institutions, mortgage originators, or fast-growing companies
· Experience with Sage Intacct or similar is a plus
· Ability to adapt and change with a fast-growing company
