OVERVIEW:
CMI is a premier manufacturer of asphalt plant equipment and parts. Our manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Welder /Fabricators and Assembly team members to enhance the productivity of our organization. If you are a skilled Welder /Fabricator with 2+ years’ experience and experience in assembly, working for a manufacturing business, we encourage you to apply for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Weld mild steel in a variety of thicknesses from 11ga to ½ inch using GMAW and FCAW welding processes.
- Understand blueprints and welding symbols to fabricate parts.
- Be able to read prints to determine proper assembly of parts and equipment.
- Ability to visually inspect and identify weld defects.
- Use a variety of cutting processes and metal finishing equipment such as, Oxy/fuel torch, plasma torch, cutting wheels, band saws, grinders, sanders and power tools.
- Ability to assemble parts using hand tools. Skilled in proper installation of hardware, hydraulic and mechanical parts.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision and instruction once trained.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Operate fork truck to gather and deliver raw materials and finished products.
- Assemble electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic assemblies using company provided tools and on the job training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A successful Welder / Assembler enjoys working with their hands and has an analytical mind. They can physically meet the demands of the job and have an eye for detail. In addition to these traits, CMI is look for applicants with the following skill set.
- Ability to use variety of tools and equipment
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints to determine material, dimensions, weld criteria, and feature positions.
- Knowledge of industry safety practices
- Knowledge of specific welding processes, such as GMAW, pulse arc, and FCAW.
- Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts and overhead hoists.
- 2+ years of experience welding
- 2+ years of assembly experience is a Plus.
- Ability to lift 40+ pounds.
- Experience with welding large, fabricated structures is a Plus.
- Mechanical aptitude.
A successful applicant would be able to use the listed skills to fabricate large and small metal parts and weldments. This includes part layout from prints, measuring, cutting, grinding, fitting, and welding metals to create the desired shape or object. As well as, the willingness and ability to be cross trained in other areas as needed. This is highly detailed work and requires the Welder / Assembler to be knowledgeable of many techniques and tools.
