Scope of Services:

Technology Services is seeking a qualified candidate to support network operations and projects.
-
Specify, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot local area network hardware and software, such as routers, switches, cabling, firewalls, security appliances, wireless access points, circuits, and Internet service.
-
Maintain excellent network performance by performing regular network monitoring and performance tuning; escalate problems to vendors as needed.
-
Provide proactive network support, including daily review of device and security logs, assisting with traffic monitoring, intrusion protection systems, and support for data center environment monitoring.
-
Establish and maintain network user accounts, user environments, directories, security, and connectivity.
-
Maintain a secure network by developing access standards, structure and develop processes to monitor usage.
-
Mentor junior staff; answer technical, procedural, and operational questions for less experienced team members.
-
Investigate, test, and perform software upgrades; install patches, hot-fixes, versioning, and virus definitions updates.
-
Prepare staff for network related changes using a variety of tools including references, training programs, and in-person support.
-
Provide technical support and advice as necessary for all departments and outside agencies, including researching, evaluating, and recommending new technologies.

Help testing at our Business Continuity site.

Provide project management support for network/infrastructure projects.
-
Create documentation of procedures in a format that will assist other staff in carrying out those procedures.
-
Communicate with vendors and external support resources to research products and new technology, including the acquisition of technology from the quote, review, and deployment of new technologies.
-
Maintain up-to-date skills and awareness of new and emerging network-based technologies and how they may apply to our infrastructure to support our long-term goals.
-
Other related duties as assigned.

Configure and deploy Cisco, Dell, Fortinet, and Palo Alto infrastructure devices as assigned.

Lifecycle Management of network infrastructure

Assist Technology Services teams as needed.

Key Areas of Skill and Experience: Candidate must have demonstrated experience and skills with all aspects of the following technologies:
-
Cisco Catalyst Switching and Wireless – Installation, Configuration, Optimization, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting of Catalyst switches across the Core, Distribution, and Edge as well as Catalyst Wireless Controllers with WiFi5 or WiFi6 Endpoints.

PaloAlto Firewalls – Installation, Configuration, Optimization, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting of PA-Series
-
The preferred candidate will have the above experience plus: Identity Services Engine (Access policy, Network segmentation, Zero-trust).
Minimum Qualifications
-
The successful candidate MUST have a broad technical background, good interpersonal communications skills, and a strong focus on customer service in addition to:
-
Possession of a completed bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a technology focused field.
-
3+ years of experience in design and management of cloud-based network infrastructure.
-
5+ years of experience in network administration and support in a Microsoft server environment.
-
5+ years of experience with configuring and maintaining network switches, VLANS, routers, and firewalls.
-
Experience working in a large very complex organization.
-
Ability to frequently (33% - 66%) lift up to 30 pounds.
-
A valid Driver’s License, with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working within a government organization.
-
Experience in a help desk, technology-oriented field, or on a technology support team.
-
Knowledge of Software-Defined Network (SDWAN), Local Area Networks (LANs), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANS), and Wide Area Networks (WANs).
-
Experience utilizing Cisco security suite/tools.
-
Experience with a Virtual Private Network (VPN), with network monitoring tools or other SNMP monitoring software, and with system backup.
-
Enterprise (global) AD administration in a Multi-Domain Architecture.
Required/Preferred Certifications below or comparable in network, network security and engineering:

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
-
PCNSA (PaloAlto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator)
Expected Engagement Duration: 6 months with possible extension or direct hire
